n 1967, a unique television series premiered, featuring the adventures of Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock and crew aboard the fantastic starship, the U.S.S. Enterprise. Nothing like it had been seen on television before Star Trek was the first serious sci-fi television series and ultimately launched a franchise that spanned 40 years, 5 television series and 11 movies. Trek is still going strong this year, the 11th Star Trek feature film quickly became a box office hit, delighting audiences and critics alike.
